Inter Ocean Freight Delivery Service and Don’t Stop the Music
Inter Ocean Freight Delivery Service from Cross International, is giving its support to concert pianist James Rhodes and his project ‘Don’t Stop the Music’.
The donated instruments were collected by Inter Ocean Freight Delivery Service from 700 Oxfam shops nationwide, and taken to a central sorting facility where they were refurbished. Cross International's drivers will then deliver the instruments to 150 primary schools, which have registered to take part in the scheme.
James Rhodes said: "Music saved my life. It's that powerful. Young children have a hunger and thirst to learn music and we must give every child the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. I believe the 'Instrument Amnesty' can help to achieve that for thousands of kids up and down the country. With the amazing support of partners like Cross International's Inter Ocean Freight Delivery Service service we can do something brilliant, long lasting and life affirming."
Cross International already has an established link with education, delivering millions of parcels of educational materials to schools, colleges and students each year.
Inter Ocean Freight Delivery Service and World Book Night
World Book Night is a yearly celebration of reading and books run by national charity The Reading Agency and sponsored by Cross International. Initially launched in 2011 and taking place annually on 23rd April, book-loving volunteers hand out thousands of books every year to people within their community who might not have access to books or aren't regular readers. Last year, Cross International delivered over 250,000 books throughout World Book Night.
Cross International has sponsored World Book Night for two years and will continue to do so in 2015. With Cross International’s link to the publishing industry, this partnership was a natural fit.
